…As The Stars
Do you know you can truly shine as bright as the stars in the sky? Well not exactly literally as the stars in the sky which are burning up at temperatures from several thousands of Celsius to millions. But figuratively you too can shine as the stars in the sky. Which is being a person of prominence, relevance, beauty, decorum, influence and affluence as the stars represent so much than we imagine or can speak of right now.
Growing up as a child I used to wonder, what the stars really looked like when one got up really close to them. As other thoughtful and sensitive children, I was particularly mesmerized by their radiant beauty, how they give their light, shinning so bright in the clear night sky.
Just like every part of us that compliments the other making us beautiful creatures, the stars are, from a point of observation, the fundamental building blocks that light up the appearance of the galaxy, observable through scientific instruments like the Hubble telescope.
How does all this relate to us?
As we all as humans are known for our distinctive peculiarity, which serves as a spring board and a launch pad into a journey of self discovery and purpose. Stars also have distinctive characteristics peculiar to them. This contributes to the purpose they serve in the mild scheme of things. Polaris for example which is called the north star is known for its importance as a reliable and constant celestial magnetic compass, making it an indispensable part of navigation several centuries after civilization.
Like Stars, how do we shine?
The first step is to discover ourselves. Who we really are. We need to discover what really makes us shine as humans which is, what we are good at: then we are to work at it and bring it to brilliance (excellence, radiance).
Is it that easy?
Not exactly, no. Atimes we may not know exactly what it takes a star to shine so bright, we may not be aware of how they pass through the various stages within their lifecycle, but when we see them shine, we enjoy the beauty and the radiance their illumination brings. The stars use up themselves to give their brilliance, the glory we see. They burn up, giving up themselves into the activity of their purpose. In the same way we must give up ourselves into what makes and will make us better, bigger, stronger and brighter. In a nutshell “sacrifice” is the word. As the stars offer up the sacrifice of themselves, we also must be willing to make sacrifices if we are to be anywhere near being described as stars.
So what’s the bottom line?
We all have different abilities as individuals, the goal is to make it shine so bright and beautiful in our season, bringing light into darkness and putting smiles on the faces of those whose path we cross in our everyday life as we shine. Also everyone of us belong to a place where we can all shine. Sometimes we shine as a constellation, other times we shine as individuals. What’s important is to discover ourselves and where we belong. Remember you have no limit, and for the fact that people may not see your light now, don’t stop shinning keep on building because a season will come where people will see you shinning so bright in beauty just AS THE STARS.
PS: A word from the wise!
The only thing that can limit us is our inability to discover ourselves and where our beauty lies. We must know how to shine in our own unique way and also learn to surround ourselves with bright stars in human form and even the brightest. Someone once said If I give you a blow with my finger, you may not feel it, but when I form a fist with my fingers you will feel it more, most times the easiest way to go far in life is to surround yourself with positivity and great minds, it is easier when you know where you belong, be inspired by the stars, though they may be different, but they shine together each in it’s unique way, bringing about a glorious blend of radiance.
